The 2008 Summer Nationals meeting from Santa Pod Raceway, 15th June 2008

It seems only 'minutes ago' that we were at the Main Event where, for the second year running, discussions were focussed on weather issues. Less than a month later, the Summer Nationals were upon us and the weather was looking a lot more promising than before.
After a short diversion to pick up a mate, we got to the track just about as the first cars were heading for the staging lanes. Other than the light was dull to start with, but that cleared up later and made for some excellent picture taking.
Catching my attention almost immediately was Nick Good and his new Super Pro ET dragster and it seemed that every run he made was a new personal best. The car looks superb.
It was good to see the return of Kev Slyfield in hos Willys ProMod after having a slight 'off' at Shakespeare County Raceway. The new front clip will soon grow some nice purple paint to match the rest of the car. Kev seemed to be having fun again and that's nearly all that's important.
Tim Mugridge was out in his gorgeous SuperMod Camaro and the car went as good as it looked - and my goodness, it looked fantastic!
Andy Robinson was out in his newly painted '53 Studebaker and to those who say the paint job "Is the same as before", you haven't looked closely enough at it!! As usual, Andy was driving virtually at the speed of light - great for the MSA Pro mod championship and great for Andy for Pre-Alastaro testing.
A fantastic day was had by all and the weather really helped to make up for the disappointments of the first meetings of the year.
Thanks to Santa Pod, Eurodragster, and to the SPRC. An excellent meeting
