We were greeted with a beautiful sunny day at the "Halloween Showdown" at Shakespeare County Raceway (SCR). Later on though, it got chilly and breezy enough to send you running back to the car for extra layers. I went to SCR just for the Sunday and when I bumped into him early on in the day, Clive reported that he hadn't even bothered with a run the day before. He was in a confident mood and looked to be quite excited at the prospect of at least another couple of passes in his big bad 'altered' - The California Kid. Clive's son Jake and the rest of the family all pitched in to help prepare the car for the runs. When it came to the warm up, I was most surprised to see who got behind the steering wheel. Can you see who it is ? (this sounds like Rolf Harris!). Clive's Nitro Altered record of 6.20 still remains unbeaten but the day proved to be thoroughly enjoyable, loud and extremely smelly, thanks to Clive and The California Kid. Welcome back, Clive! We would sooo much love to see you make a 5 second pass! A warmer day and a little more 'sauce' and that barrier could very well be breached soon! All the best for the coming season.
